DON'T MISS... RTE's LIVE Premier Soccer Sunday Show... THIS SUNDAY...

Posted by TalentBase News on April 28 2011 @ 17:48

RTÉ Sport's Premier Soccer Sunday programme is to be broadcast in front of a live audience for the first time on THIS SUNDAY (May 1).

Presenter Darragh Maloney will be joined for the show by former Irish captain Kenny Cunningham, former England star Trevor Stevens, and by John Giles, and audience members will be able to interact with the panel for discussion of all the issues.

Darragh Maloney says: 'I'm really excited about the live show and there is going to be a really great atmosphere in studio on the night.

'As the presenter I try to ask the panel the questions that I think the viewers at home want to know but this time they'll be the ones actually doing the asking so I think the lads are set for a real grilling.'

Live from the GAA Congress... Marty's in Mullingar

Posted by TalentBase News on April 15 2011 @ 16:31

Sport @ 7 tonight comes live from the GAA Congress in Mullingar.

Marty Morrissey's guests will include Liam O'Neill, President Elect of the GAA, Pat Fitzgerald, Munster Council Secretary, John Bannon, former Referee and Sean Moran, GAA Correspondent, Irish Times.

Liam O'Neill of Laois is set to officially become President-elect of the GAA at Congress in Mullingar this evening.  O'Neill will spend one year as President-elect before taking over from Christy Cooney and beginning a three-year term in April 2012.

During the campaign, O'Neill proposed making significant changes to the GAA's disciplinary procedures.  To speed up disciplinary processes, he suggested that a three-man board with substantial powers should meet every Monday to deal with issues arising from matches quickly.

He has also highlighted pitch invasions and the traditional post-match All-Ireland final speech by the winning captain as areas in need of reform.

He backed supporting the growth of hurling in weaker counties such as Antrim, Down, Westmeath, Carlow and Laois at the outset of his campaign in December.

O'Neill is a former Chairman of the Leinster Council and is principal of Trumera National School.

He was Chairman of the Disciplinary Task Force Chairman which oversaw the introduction of experimental rules in the 2010 League campaigns in football and hurling, the majority of which were rejected at Congress last year.
